Introducing HydraTough: Portable Hydraulic Power Units Built for the Job Site

When your application demands hydraulic power away from a fixed installation, you need a unit that's built tough, starts every time, and can be spec'd to match your exact flow and pressure requirements. That's exactly why Command Hydraulics developed the HydraTough line of portable hydraulic power units — purpose-built for construction, OEM integration, and industrial applications where reliability in the field isn't optional.
What Is a Portable Hydraulic Power Unit?
A portable hydraulic power unit (HPU) is a self-contained system that generates hydraulic flow and pressure using its own prime mover — gas, electric, or diesel — rather than relying on a machine's existing hydraulic circuit. They're used anywhere you need on-demand hydraulic actuation without a fixed power source: construction sites, remote job sites, OEM equipment builds, utility work, and more.
The HydraTough Lineup
Command Hydraulics offers HydraTough portable HPUs in three drive configurations to fit your application.
Gas-Powered Hydraulic Power Units
Our gasoline models run Honda and V-Twin engines from 13–38HP, delivering 2,000 PSI and flow rates from 5 to 20 GPM. They're a natural fit for job sites where electrical power isn't available and you need the portability of a gas engine. Several standard models ship from stock.
Model | Engine | Pressure | Flow | Circuit | Tank | Weight |
G-13S05-52-W | 13HP Honda | 2000 PSI | 5 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 143 lbs |
G-13S08-52-W | 13HP Single | 2000 PSI | 8 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 157 lbs |
G-18S10-64-W | 18HP V-Twin | 2000 PSI | 0–10 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 312 lbs |
G-18S10-68-W | 18HP V-Twin | 2000 PSI | 10 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 306 lbs |
G-18D55-63-W | 18HP V-Twin | 2000 PSI | Dual 5 GPM | Dual | 5 gal | 318 lbs |
G-33D1010-J3-O | 38HP V-Twin | 2000 PSI | Dual 10 GPM | Dual | 10 gal | 560 lbs |
Electric Hydraulic Power Units
When you're working indoors, in enclosed spaces, or anywhere emissions matter, our electric portable HPUs are the right call. Available in 10HP and 15HP configurations, these units deliver the same 2,000 PSI performance with a clean, quiet electric motor.
Model | Motor | Pressure | Flow | Circuit | Tank | Weight |
E-10S08-11-O | 10HP Electric | 2000 PSI | 8 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 200 lbs |
E-15S10-G6-W | 15HP Electric | 2000 PSI | 10 GPM | Single | 10 gal | 470 lbs |
Diesel Hydraulic Power Units
For heavy-duty field applications where high flow and all-day runtime matter, our diesel models deliver. The lineup ranges from 23HP to 30HP, with flow up to 32 GPM — built for high-demand industrial and construction use.
Model | Engine | Pressure | Flow | Circuit | Tank | Weight |
D-23S12-J5-W | 23HP I-4 Diesel | 1800 PSI | 0–12 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 506 lbs |
D-23S12-J4-W | 23HP I-4 Diesel | 1800 PSI | 12 GPM | Single | 5 gal | 503 lbs |
D-25S12-L7-S | 25HP Diesel | 2400 PSI | 12 GPM | Single | 0.4 gal | 780 lbs |
D-30S32-C4-O | 30HP Diesel | 1000 PSI | 32 GPM | Single | 60 gal | 1750 lbs |
Why HydraTough?
Heavy-duty components. Every unit is built with commercial-grade hydraulic components selected for durability in demanding environments — not consumer-grade parts dressed up for industrial use.
Standard models in stock. Need a unit fast? Several HydraTough models ship from stock. No waiting weeks on a standard configuration.
Fast lead times on custom builds. If your application requires a non-standard flow rate, pressure, circuit count, or mounting configuration, we build to spec — with lead times that won't hold up your project.
Custom-built to your spec. Construction OEMs, equipment manufacturers, and contractors with specific requirements get a unit engineered for their exact application, not a close-enough compromise.
