Hydraulic Power Pack, HPU, or Power Unit, What’s the Difference?

If you’ve heard terms like hydraulic power pack, hydraulic power unit, HPU, or portable hydraulic power supply, they usually mean the same basic thing.

They are all referring to a unit that creates hydraulic flow and pressure to run a tool, attachment, or piece of equipment.

At Command Hydraulics, we call ours HydraTough portable hydraulic power units, but many customers simply call them power packs.

HydraTough units are self-contained, portable, and available in gas, electric, or diesel models. They are built to give you hydraulic power where you need it, whether that is on a job site, in the field, in a shop, or as part of an OEM setup.

So whether you are searching for a hydraulic power pack, portable HPU, or hydraulic power unit, the goal is the same: get the right flow and pressure for the job.

Need help finding the right setup? Contact Command Hydraulics and we’ll help match a HydraTough unit to your application.
